Keeping Command Connected at Defence in Space 2026

Keeping Command Connected at Defence in Space 2026

Keeping command and control connected when the network is under attack.

About the show

Now in its fourth edition, Defence in Space (DiSC 2026) is a gathering of the space and defence community. It brings together government, industry, institutions and academia to explore military space capability, from satellite communications to space domain awareness. More than 1,000 attendees, 65 speakers and 50 sponsors from over 30 countries joined this year’s edition at The Brewery, London.

Resilience was a prominent theme across the programme, from sovereign satellite communications to anti-jamming, and a natural fit for the Network Innovations UK team. Joining as a sponsor, we came ready to discuss resilient communications for contested environments. Thank you to everyone who stopped by booth #G1.

Highlights from Booth G1

DiSC 2026 gave us a valuable opportunity to reinforce existing Defence relationships, learn about emerging requirements and meet organisations looking for strategic partners within UK Defence. Across the show, we saw continued growth in sovereign space capabilities, Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (A-PNT), multi-orbit connectivity, and integrated operational management solutions that support Defence decision-making and network management.

Those themes echoed the argument at the heart of our latest white paper, Lessons from Ukraine and Beyond, written by Rob Gains, which we were pleased to share at the show. It makes the case that architecture, rather than any single technology, defines resilient communications. Multiple pathways mean the loss of one link doesn’t mean the loss of command. Distributed command removes single points of failure. And systems that work together, integrated rather than siloed, can adapt as threats and requirements change.

That is also why the show’s focus on multi-orbit connectivity resonated so strongly: resilience comes from how capabilities are combined, not from any one of them in isolation.

Didn’t attend the show? (#ICYMI)

For those who missed the show, do check out our white paper, Lessons from Ukraine and Beyond: Rethinking MOD CIS Procurement for Resilience, Integration and Adaptability. We’ve consolidated information on our resilient communications solutions so you can learn more, enabling teams globally.
