Network Innovations (NI) is thrilled to be sponsoring the Agoria Solar Team, a team of 20 Belgian engineering students, & their journey to the 2021 Solar Challenge in Morocco. NI in partnership with Iridium® are providing connectivity throughout the challenge, ensuring the team stay connected & online as they race across the Moroccan Sahara.
The Agoria Solar Team will be participating in the 2021 Solar Challenge Morocco, navigating the Moroccan Sahara and the challenges that come with its terrain. Network Innovations will be providing connectivity throughout the race, ensuring the Agoria Solar Team maintains reliable connectivity and communication with their crew. By supplying robust voice and data connectivity via the Iridium® satellite network, the solar team can remain in touch regardless of the landscape and events on-the-ground.
Under normal circumstances, the Belgian team would defend their title this fall at the World Championships in Australia, however, the race across the Outback will not go ahead this year. In October 2021, the Agoria Solar Team will participate in the Solar Challenge Morocco, a new solar race across the Moroccan Sahara.
Student teams from universities around the world will go head-to-head, in a 2,500-kilometer drive along the foothills of the Atlas Mountains - the inspiration for the name of Agoria Solar Team’s newest solar-powered car, BluePoint Atlas.

The 20 students have proudly unveiled their new solar car, after designing and building it over the past year. With a new look of three wheels, a pointed nose, and a top speed of 150 km/h, their now ninth solar-powered vehicle has been improved and optimized in several areas.

Data connectivity to check the weather forecast, update social media, cruise the internet, or send digital communications will be provided by Network Innovations. Iridium® satellite phones will also be supplied, enabling reliable voice communication in areas with little to no cellular coverage.
It’s crucial the team can communicate and discuss their strategy. Being caught by surprise with unpredictable weather conditions must be avoided throughout the race. A satellite link ensures they can make informed decisions and change strategy if required.
It’s been almost two years since the Agoria Solar Team were the first to cross the finish line at the 2019 Bridgestone World Challenge in Australia, taking home the winning trophy! As a sponsor, Network Innovations are excited to be supporting their journey once again in October, supplying truly global connectivity – even in the most remote corners of the planet.
BluePoint Atlas - "Redefining Possibilities"
In a time where both the environment and climate are changing, people around the world are looking more into the use of natural resources for our energy.
Did you know? Solar energy is one of the most challenging energy sources to be used, especially in the quest for sustainable transport of people and goods. The Agoria Solar Team will be showcasing their innovation and skill in solar technique during the 2021 Solar Challenge Morocco - a five-day race for solar cars, with five stages. The joint time of these stages will decide who will be named the winner.
Our solutions will move with the solar team, ensuring their crew and their car, BluePoint Atlas, can continue “Redefining Possibilities” and Succeed. Anywhere.
